For its opening, following more than a decade of excavations and construction work, the Site Archéologique Saint-Antoine (SaSA) commissioned the MAMCO to design a specific artistic intervention project.

The work selected is by Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige (born 1969 in Beirut), specifically a series of works related to archaeology. For three decades, the artists' multidisciplinary, research-based practice has confronted reality with the emancipatory power of image, fiction, and poetry. Their works, in resonance with the site, unveil buried images and "messages from the underground," questioning our place within an uninterrupted cycle of ruptures, continuities, catastrophes, and rebirths.

On the occasion of the festive inauguration day of SaSA, the MAMCO is pleased to invite you to the opening of the Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige exhibition and presents a program of activities for all audiences.
