L’Escalier
Françoise Ninghetto, Curator at MAMCO, reflects on the museum’s inaugural exhibition in 1994, Le musée est dans l’escalier. She discusses one of MAMCO’s founding principles—conceived as a total work of art—and highlights three in situ works created specifically for the museum’s architecture at that time: Art, Text, Light, Sign by Maurizio Nannucci, Cercles concentriques via le rectangle Genève by Felice Varini, and Deux directions cruciales by Michel Verjux.
