A Geneva collector offered Man Ray’s work Trois parasoleils pour dames et cavaliers délicats (1917/1927) to the Musée d’art moderne et contemporain de Genève (MAMCO).
The first version of this piece was created in New York and exhibited at the inaugural Salon of the Society of Independent Artists. To mark the 10th anniversary of Dada, Man Ray produced a second version, measuring 235 × 480 cm, making it the largest work known by the artist. This piece was subsequently included in retrospectives at the Centre Pompidou in 1981 and at the MAMAC in Nice in 1997
