After VESSEL, Mist and Planet [wanderer], Damien Jalet and Kohei Nawa continue their exploration of nature and its unexpected phenomena to depict a humanity in search of meaning. In a series of unpredictable transformations that evoke both mythology and science, the dancers of the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève are transformed, layer by layer, into an infinite variety of physical and emotional states. Mirage uses these fascinating optical effects and the fata morgana to depict the perpetual metamorphosis of living things. Revealing both the ghosts of civilisation at the edge of a dry well and the sensuality of the vibrant colours of tropical nature, Mirage is like a waking dream, fluctuating and moving like atmospheric phenomena.
